Research led by Karim Ibrahim, PsyD, an assistant professor at Yale Child Study Center, indicates that difficulties managing emotions in childhood are linked to attention problems, aggression, anxiety, and depression. Study findings were published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry: Open in January 2026.
